Witch Cake - Ceramic Pre-Order
“Witch cakes are to be met with in almost every cottage. These are circular-shaped, with a hole in the middle and with spikes projecting on all sides. If you hang one up in your cottage and once a year burn it and replace it with another, you will have good luck." - Edward Lovett (1852-1933)
Inspired by amateur folklorist Edward Lovett's notes on the "Witch Cake", I've decided to make my own! From April 1st - 6th, I'll be making Witch Cakes for anyone who wants one out of buff stoneware.
Once they are bisque fired, I'll be glazing them with iron oxide under ohio-state-white (ex: image 2) and firing them in a gas reduction kiln to cone 9.
Each Witch Cake will be slightly smaller than my fist, and come with a signed and numbered Good Luck coupon, good for one year.
** Pre-Order Runs until April 5th. Witch Cakes will most likely ship in May.
